2018 Lincoln Navigator Teased Ahead of New York Auto Show
A year after debuting the radical Navigator Concept, Lincoln is returning to the New York auto show with a production version.
In a new teaser image, Lincoln reveals the front face of the 2018 Navigator. Along with striking headlights, the model appears to have a wide inlet that makes the front of the vehicle look different from the concept. Expected to go on sale later this year, the new model ushers in the fourth generation of Lincoln’s flagship SUV.

Although the concept featured gullwing doors and a teak-wood staircase, we don’t expect these showstoppers to make their way to the production version. But other features, including the piano-key shifter and the instrument panel, are more likely to come to life. The 2018 Lincoln Navigator will continue on with traditional doors and will offer seating for up to eight people.
Lincoln is expected to use the tried-and-true 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine that first arrived for the outgoing model’s 2015 refresh. However, horsepower has increased from 380 to more than 400, as we learned from the Navigator Concept at the 2016 New York auto show. It’s possible that the new Nav will also receive a 10-speed automatic like the 2018 Ford Expedition. Expect the Navigator to get many of the same updates as the new Expedition.
